Kun Kun is one of the gender-associated honorifics. It’s much more casual than san and is typically used for young or teenage boys—”Shinji-kun!” or “Kawaoru-kun!,” for example. However, you can use kun for a girl you’re very close to. Actually, kun is a good choice in general for people who are close to you. I (half-jokingly) refer to my partner with “kun” when talking to Japanese friends and associates. It’s also a good choice for people (men, in particular) of lower or equal status to you at work or school. In romance anime, in particular, you can be very clued into social subtext by keeping track of a character’s progression from san to kun to no honorifics at all. Again, the choice of honorifics tells you a lot about how one character feels about another. In One Piece, Nami always refers to Sanji as “Sanji-kun,” even though Sanji is technically one year older than her. This clues us into two insights: that Nami has a soft spot for Sanji, but also that she knows she can manipulate him to do what she wants, as if she were a senpai (see below!) and he were a younger boy. Chan Chan is kinda-sorta like the female version of kun, except that it’s cuter-feeling.

Koji Kashin supports him while Boruto sits next to the tree Code has trapped Sasuke in. Boruto then heads back to the village and reunites with Sarada and Sumire, but gets contacted by Shikamaru, who realized that his memories of "Kawaki as Naruto's son" are completely fake after hearing Amado's theory on everyone's memories being altered, with the Mind Body Transmission technique by Ino Yamanaka. Suddenly, Boruto is attacked by Mitsuki. After the small fight, not only Boruto snaps Mitsuki out of his wrath, but he also tells him that he is the true sun to his moon and his parents, Naruto and Hinata, are still alive. He even reveals the truth about what actually happened three years ago to Shikamaru. Despite discovering the truth, Shikamaru tells Boruto that until they are ready to expose Kawaki's actions to the village, they must work together in the shadows as long as Boruto is a criminal. Production[edit] When the Naruto manga ended in 2014, the company Shueisha asked Masashi Kishimoto to draw the sequel. Kishimoto rejected the idea and proposed artist Mikio Ikemoto, who had been working as an assistant for Kishimoto ever since Naruto's early chapters, to draw it instead. [3][4] A countdown website titled "Next Generation" was used to promote the new manga. In December 2015, the Boruto: Naruto Next Generations's serialisation was announced. [5][6] Kishimoto said he wanted Boruto to surpass his own work. But I'll press on. I'm going to overcome my weakness!" - Round 17, while training at the Jōnan University Training Camp "Until I understand what true strength is, I'm the Challenger! So I'll always stand up!" - New Challenger Saga "They weren't fouls. The referee didn't stop the fight. It maybe be because he decided that they were simply accidents or maybe he really didn't see them, but in any case you shouldn't have taken your eyes off the fight. It was your fault!" to Itagaki after his first loss against Fumito Makino in Round 364 "Umezawa-kun is someone I know, a classmate, and also someone I work with, but most of all, we're best friends!!" - Ippo yelled at Masahiko Umezawa after he resigned from Makunouchi Fishing Boat in Round 507. "The reason we train so hard in the first place is so we can make it home in one piece.
