Usually even in shounen there's some solid idea behind everything, be it dreams, people you care about, being a hero, ect. With this anime, it's hard to care about anything that happens because there is none of that. No real virtues being stood up for, nothing gained from watching besides maybe epiliptic shock from the flashy visual effects. No philosophy. And at the end of the day, making a statement is what makes a piece of art. This anime really doesn't do that, it feels like it has nothing to say. It feels like a kid trying to copy his sucessful older brothers even though he has no life experience to draw from. And that's ultimately this anime's biggest failing. In short this anime is garbage, and not worth your time. It once again proves that Shounen Anime have no other goals than to appeal to the widest majority of their audience with hype culture pandering, quirks with no substance, genetically engineered pop-appeal, fake early-introduced emotional stakes, and standing up for basically no specific theme besides shallow virtue. Watch Mob Psycho 100 instead.

They used her death scene so much that I even started laughing after a certain point.
I understand that they were trying to build up the characters to make us care about what was going to happen, but they completely failed at it, so it just became a drag
Voice acting 6/10
Nothing spectacular or noteworthy. Can say I laughed a bit after hearing 3 times in a row the dude scream due to the girl's death
Sound design and OST 6/10
Nothing spectacular or noteworthy
TL;DR
Overall, it's a super mediocre anime that struggled to get my attention and even getting to episode 7 was a chore. I'm sure you've realized by now since I've repeated this as many times as the anime repeated the poor girl's death scene, but the only thing I can say about this anime is that "It's nothing noteworthy". Especially if you've already seen a lot of anime and are aware of all the tropes/clichés Reviewer’s Rating: 6 What did you think of this review? - The fights are boring. It's your typical "we can't pay animators for a decent fight scene, so we'll just make it into those talk-and-think scenes with only a handful of actual attacks". Some people like that, but I prefer fight scenes with, well, fights.
- The girl character is extremely annoying. I get that she's a 12y-old, but that doesn't mean she has to act like she's 8. Of course, whenever they then try to make her act cool and badass, it flops and just looks cringe.

During the mission, Ryoma spots a fluffy slime and tames it. The party eventually discovers that the treants' numbers are much higher than they expected because there is an ancient treant among them, which is turning all the forest trees into more treants. With help from his companions, Ryoma slays the ancient treant and the party realizes that the enemy was in possession of a large quantity of mana crystals, which explains why it became much stronger than usual. Having accomplished their quest, Ryoma turns his attention to the upcoming festival, his heart filled with anticipation. 2311"Ryoma and the Busy Days"

While playing with his slimes, Ryoma watches Pioro arrive at the city and greets him. Pioro delivers some supplies to Asagi, who reveals that he decided to have his own stall at the festival by Miya's request because she wants the other citizens to try the tempura he makes. However, when Asagi becomes worried that such a dish will not be suitable for the festival, Ryoma gives him the idea of making some tenmusu instead. Meanwhile, Tekkun, Kufo and Fernobelia are satisfied about how Ryoma got used to life in their world, while being a positive influence to others. 2412"Ryoma and the Town of Gimul"

Sports animes need training arcs in order for the viewers to see the characters' improvements, but KNB doesn't give as much as a drop of it. We only see like 30 mins of training, then they make these sick moves on the fly like why? Let's use Haikyuu again as a reference. In Haikyuu, you can clearly see the changes Hinata, Kageyama and the team made during their countless training moments and you can also see the sick moves they used in practice in their official games. In KNB, I'm not super amazed at how Kagami, Kuroko, or any other character for that matter can use these super moves in their official games, when I didn't see the process of how they arrived at that result. A key factor in sports animes is the process of their transformation. KNB had terrible pacing that those crucial training scenes were as good as nonexistent.
