Having become a model employee of a local fast-food restaurant, Sadao has to provide for his former generals Alciel and Lucifer who joined him in Japan, as well as avoid confrontations with Emi Yusa—the assumed name of Emilia—and the angels who monitor his actions.
Amidst a violent argument between Sadao and Emi, a dimensional portal suddenly appears, carrying a mysterious apple that harbors a toddler named Alas Ramus. To everyone's bewilderment, she imprints on Emi and Sadao, marking them as her parents! After Emi reluctantly agrees to help Sadao take care of Alas Ramus, their semblance of normal life is jeopardized by the appearance of the archangel Gabriel, who comes bearing bad news. He claims that he must take both Alas Ramus and Emi's sacred sword with him—lest the world be destroyed.
Unable to accept Gabriel's grim prophecies, the hero and the former Demon Lord need to put their differences aside and unite to protect what they hold dearest.

Levels of black belts are occasionally used as martial arts titles: Shodan – 1st dan Nidan – 2nd dan Sandan – 3rd dan Yondan – 4th dan Godan – 5th dan Rokudan – 6th dan Shichidan or Nanadan – 7th dan Hachidan – 8th dan Kudan – 9th dan Jūdan – 10th dan Religion[edit] Shinpu (神父,しんぷ), Orthodox or Catholic priest (lit. Godfather). A Catholic priest (司祭,しさい, shisai, lit. minister of worship) receives this title. Bokushi (牧師,ぼくし), Protestant minister. This title is given to a Protestant minister (司祭,しさい, shisai). Euphonic suffixes and wordplay[edit] In informal speech, some Japanese people may use contrived suffixes in place of normal honorifics. This is essentially a form of wordplay, with suffixes being chosen for their sound, or for friendly or scornful connotations. Although the range of such suffixes that might be coined is limitless, some have gained such widespread usage that the boundary between established honorifics and wordplay has become a little blurred. Examples of such suffixes include variations on -chan (see below), -bee (scornful), and -rin (friendly). [14] Unlike a proper honorific, use of such suffixes is governed largely by how they sound in conjunction with a particular name, and on the effect the speaker is trying to achieve. Watching the pair of them living their unorthodox lives together never fails to make me smile.
Then there's half a dozen other girls as well, either side characters or main characters introduced later on in the story who also conveniently enough end up falling in love with Bell (shocking, I know) so Danmachi is definitely a harem in the end even if MAL might not have it tagged as one. That being said it doesn't really focus on the harem elements all that much; it's mostly a secondary factor. The main attention is pretty much always on the adventuring aspect itself.
The plot progression of Danmachi is fairly straightforward. It basically follows Bell's struggles as well as how his relationships progress with the other adventurers he ends up encountering during them.
