28 janvier 2024Signaler ce contenuPage de la critique Comme beaucoup j'ai découvert l'histoire à partir d'une de ses adaptations, l'animé pour ma part, ne lisant pas de manga. Je fus très surpris de découvrir que le matériau original provenait d'un roman.
D'où l'envie de lire ce livre traduit par Lumen.
À tout ceux qui peuvent hésiter, ce n'est pas la peine. le roman est très agréable à lire, parsemé de légère illustration qui rajoute un plus et d'un recueil d'illustrations en couleur à la fin.
(L'adaptation animée est très fidèle à l'histoire. )
Pour ceux qui ne connaissent pas l'histoire, on suit Mao Mao, jeune femme élevé par un vieil apothicaire excentrique et des courtisanes dans sa vie au palais impérial où elle atterri suite à un enlèvement. L'ambiance retranscrit du monde impérial est superbe, les personnages sont attachants et bien construits. le livre traite de sujet parfois compliqué en rapport à un monde d'une autre époque, pourtant la lecture reste "légère" et l'humour ne s'en va jamais très longtemps.
On est mené du début à la fin par la plume de l'écrivain (pour nous, Laureline Chaplain et Ombeline Marchon les traductrices, ne pas oublier que ce sont elles qui choisissent les mots pour nous retranscrire l'histoire) qui nous amène seulement là où il en a envie.
Je ne peux que vous conseiller cette lecture que j'ai grandement apprécié tout du long.
