L'intrigue est très prenante et on meurt d'envie d'en découvrir plus, toujours plus. Ce n'est pas non plus une histoire où il y aura une tonne de rebondissements ou encore une tonne d'action, certes il y en a un peu mais ce n'est pas ça qui fait la force de cette histoire. C'est une histoire pleine de complots, de mystères, tout ça dans un
cadre que je
trouve merveilleux. On se retrouve en pleine Chine impériale. Au vue des descriptions, les lieux ont l'air vraiment merveilleux même si évoluer dans ce milieu ce n'est pas toujours rose J'aime tant l'univers du roman, avec les apothicaires, les dames de compagnie, les complots à la cour et j'en passe. Je trouve ça absolument passionnant!
La grande force, selon moi, de cette histoire, ce sont les personnages. Et plus précisément Mao Mao. Elle est tout simplement incroyable et merveilleuse. J'adore cette fille! Elle se retrouve dans le quartier des femmes au palais impérial après avoir été enlevée et vendue. Elle a été élevée par un apothicaire et elle même se passionne pour ce monde là. Mais pour pouvoir survivre là bas, elle doit cacher ses connaissances.
