And the direction chosen from the premise was doomed to fail to hold interest. The Isekai portion is not interesting at all as we already know the outcome of everything: He returns to . Earth. That is literally the hook. So for the rest of the show, the frame, and the Reverse-Isekai portion, it attempts to be a comedy. But the comedy falls flat for me, as it only consists of "he is ugly", "he is socially inept", "magic is real" and "he lost touch with the preset" jokes.
That is so much wasted potential as the same premise can be used to create a political high-stakes drama around the concept of magic and the clarifications of god. Or it could've even learn more into the slice-of-life aspects of the main cast and how they abuse their magic uncle for their gains.
