Setting and themes[edit] Series director Shinichirō Watanabe defined the central theme of Samurai Champloo as the portrayal and acceptance around death, themes he had previously explored in his science fiction series Macross Plus (1994) and Cowboy Bebop (1998). [5] Another theme outlined in the series pitch was individuality and finding one's unique identity. [6] The series is set in Edo period Japan, roughly sixty years after the end of the Sengoku period.Retrieved October 9, 2022. ^ iQIYI [@iQIYI] (October 1, 2022). "Calling all #BlueLock fans!
