Since the comet passed three years earlier, Taki realizes that he and Mitsuha were separated by three years, her living in 2013 and he in 2016. He finds Mitsuha's name among the 500 people killed by the comet's impact. Taki begins to lose his memories of Mitsuha, seeing her messages disappear from his phone. In a panic, he races to the shrine and drinks the kuchikamizake. He has a vision and recalls that Mitsuha once came to Tokyo to find him; though he did not recognize her, she gave him a ribbon he has worn ever since. Taki awakens in Mitsuha's body on the morning of the festival, where Hitoha speaks directly to him, explaining that the body-switching phenomenon has always been in their family. Realizing he has a chance to save Mitsuha and the entire town, Taki convinces Mitsuha's friends to help him broadcast an emergency signal, evacuating Itomori before the meteor fragments strike. He then heads to the shrine, where Mitsuha has just woken up in Taki's body. As twilight falls;[note 1] their timelines cross, allowing them to meet in person for the first time. Taki returns Mitsuha's ribbon, and they attempt to write their names on each other's palms, but twilight ends before Mitsuha can write hers. She returns to the village to see that the evacuation plan failed but convinces her father, the mayor, to order an evacuation.

‘Shinmai Maou no Testament’ The life of Basara Toujou takes a sudden turn in “Shinmai Maou no Testament. ” After his father remarries, Basara is surprised to find himself with two new stepsisters. However, he soon discovers that his siblings are actually members of the demon clan, setting the stage for a series of supernatural conflicts and ecchi scenarios. “Shinmai Maou no Testament” is not your regular ecchi anime. While it does have a generous amount of fanservice, the anime also delivers a solid plot, engaging battles, and intricate character dynamics. The relationship between Basara and his stepsisters provides much of the ecchi content, but it also serves as a foundation for character growth and development. This perfect blend of action, drama, and ecchi makes it a notable mention in the genre. 8. ‘Kuzu no Honkai’ “Kuzu no Honkai,” also known as “Scum’s Wish,” delves into the intricate web of unrequited love. It tells the story of Hanabi Yasuraoka and Mugi Awaya, two students who share a painful secret: they’re both in love with someone they can’t have. To cope, they form a pact to provide each other with solace, leading to intimate moments filled with pain and longing. Yes, there is a lot of content from the novels that is skipped, but it feels like it didn't hurt the overall story very much to leave it out either, so it works out anyway. The only thing the anime occasionally lacks is some proper explanations of certain skills' and items' functionalities, but other than that I don't have a whole lot to complain about.
All-in-all, Danmachi is far from a masterpiece, yet given the premise I think it delivers a lot more than most people probably expected coming into it. The story has most definitely been done before, but Danmachi adds its own twist to it and more importantly it does it *well*. It goes to show that with proper execution, a time-tested concept is still perfectly viable, and as a result it provides an anime that always leaves you with a smile on your face. Call it generic or shallow or whatever, but that doesn't change the fact that it's easily one of the most entertaining anime of the year thus far.
