This all backed up by a soundtrack influenced by rave techno. Golden Axe in general is influenced by classic fantasy medieval Europe, however it's also influenced by the Conan the Barbarian films. Alien Syndrome was influenced by the Alien films, to the point where a Xenomorph appears as one of the enemies.
