The settings of the games range from small middle American towns (Onett, Twoson) to big bustling metropolises inspired by New York City (Fourside)—EarthBound is, after all, the Trope Namer for Eagleland. Two of the main protagonists, Ninten and Ness, are even All American Boys. For the Frog the Bell Tolls draws heavy inspiration from European fairy tales. F-Zero takes place in a comic book future, with Captain Falcon himself being a homage.
