2024 Sonwig Not Recommended Funny Trigger warning: sexual assault
It is a testament to how stale anime has become if Tengoku Daimakyou is considered great. It is not quite awful, with strong production values throughout and clear artistic effort put into it. The major issues with the pacing, coupled with the poor story and characters that we are shown, land it as a high 3 out of 10.
The short TV anime squanders so much of its limited runtime on boring and pointless scenes. Not the side stories; such diversions are welcome in this kind of show. However, the scenes showing the children in 'heaven' were excessively long and dull. None . of it mattered whatsoever until the final few episodes, and still it didn't tie back to the main characters. These parts took up a large portion of the show and were unecessary.
It is later revealed that there are 2 versions of Shoko in their timeline, and that the older version only exists because
Sakuta will die in a car accident on Christmas day, resulting in his heart being donated to Shoko, allowing her to continue living, hence the reason behind Sakuta's scars. When Mai sacrifices herself to save Sakuta from the accident, Shoko helps Sakuta travel back in time to fix his mistake and save Mai. She also travels back to her elementary school timeline to mend the problem causing her Adolescence Syndrome, creating an alternate timeline where Sakuta and Mai never
meet Shoko. They later reconcile when Sakuta sees Shoko by the beach and remembers all the memories the two of them shared from the previous timeline. Supporting[edit] Yūma Kunimi (国見 佑真, Kunimi Yūma) Voiced by: Yuma Uchida[7] Sakuta's best friend. He is dating Saki Kamisato but they often argue over Yūma's interactions with Sakuta. He also worked in the same family restaurant as Sakuta. He is kind and friendly, and the only one not affected by Adolescence Syndrome. Saki Kamisato (上里 沙希, Kamisato Saki) Voiced by: Himika Akaneya[7] Saki is Yūma's girlfriend. She hates Sakuta and wishes he would stop being Yuma's friend, as his status as the class loner is making Yuma, and more importantly, herself, less popular. However, things change as she helps him with Rio Futaba's AS case.
Or it could've even learn more into the slice-of-life aspects of the main cast and how they abuse
their magic uncle for their gains. But instead it goes for probably the worst lane. Telling a story where we know the ending from the get-go. Other aspects like the possibility of aching to return to the world where he spent 50% of his life and even more percentage of active conscious living are completely ignored and only show that there was very little thought put into the whole thing.
In the end Isekai Ojisan has a very stale humour and leans way to hard into the storybook aspects of its premise to result in an uninteresting generic fantasy blurp without special characters or action.
