Chan and -kun occasionally mean similar things. The general use of -kun for females implies respectful
endearment and that the person being referred to is sweet and kind. In the National Diet (Legislature), the Speaker of the House uses -kun when addressing Diet members and ministers. An exception was when Takako Doi was the Speaker of the lower house, where she used the title -san. Chan[edit]
Badges for sale bearing names suffixed with -chan Tan Chan (ちゃん) expresses that the speaker finds a person endearing. In general, -chan is used for young children, close friends, babies, grandparents and sometimes female adolescents. It may also be used towards cute animals, lovers, or youthful women. Chan is never used for strangers or people one has just met. Although traditionally, honorifics are not applied to oneself, some people adopt the childlike affectation of referring to themselves in the third person using -chan (childlike because it suggests that one has not learned to distinguish between names used for oneself and names used by others). For example, a young girl named Kanako might call herself Kanako-chan rather than the first-person pronoun. Tan[edit] Tan (たん) is intended as an even cuter[6] or affectionate variant of -chan.
Some Marines try to take advantage of the situation and capture Dr. Vegapunk, but
Saturn orders them to stop, stating they have nowhere to run. He then insults Kizaru for taking so long to complete his job and Kizaru weakly apologizes, saying that he will not be able to move for a while. Saturn understands why that is and walks over to Luffy, who he immediately tries to stab
with one of his legs. Franky, thankfully, pushes Luffy out of the way with Strong Right and then grabs him, bringing him back to his side. Saturn acknowledges the strength of the Straw Hat Pirates while Franky laughs that it was interesting even the World's leaders want Luffy dead. Saturn says that Luffy's and Bonney's presence on Egghead was unexpected, but they are surrounded and the island is on the brink of destruction, though he would like to see them attempt to escape. He tells Dr. Vegapunk that he is disappointed by his "betrayal" but thanks him for his contributions. He then says that he wants everyone present to die in the most painful manner possible for defying the World Government and asks why when humans are told not to do something they do it anyway. All the while, he tightens his grip on Bonney, causing her pain, but no one can help her because he is keeping everyone down, which Vegapunk suspects is because of his Devil Fruit power.
” To me, this is very obvious. The tangible plot of Sonny Boy is a straightforward mystery box which just so happens to have a great deal of surreal elements, but this simplicity is a good thing, because with all the symbolism and character details you already have to keep track of, any narrative structure more complex than this would’ve been way too overbearing and—now that I mention it—probably would’ve made the series as confusing as everyone already says it is. What makes the cast so good is a combination of the expressive character animation I mentioned earlier and the fact Natsume personally
wrote the script for every episode, making every character feel consistent. I was actually worried about him writing, because while Natsume is a fantastic director, I wasn’t sure how confident I was in his ability to direct AND write his own original project. While his themes weren’t as profound as he might've hoped, his character writing was first-class, and while some episodes were definitely more verbose than necessary, he still proved my worries wrong. There’s a cute, snarky cat girl whose cats work for Jeff Bezos at Nyamazon, an Indian exchange student who literally invents bitcoin, a New York Yankee’s fan who builds a religion around
baseball playing monkeys, and a five thousand year old talking dog.
