Of all the random sports to pick, football isn’t the least popular by any means, but it is surprising that, well, Japanese people play American football. There isn’t even a national Japanese Football League. In fact, I had to actually do a double take when Eyeshield 21 was based on a real competition. People in Japan actually play American football in high school, and the Christmas Bowl is an actual football competition. Regardless, I doubt most people who are not native to or living in the US are familiar with Football, and that .

that being said, this series is brilliantly done. There\'s comedy, romance, and
plenty, plenty, plenty of plot. Follow Ippo as he grows as a person and as a professional boxer. You\'ll laugh, and you\'ll probably cry here or there. The fact that I don\'t even like boxing never came in to play. You\'ll probably find yourself doing some jabs here and there while watching the show too.

Ippo read the newspaper that Kumi found out Ippo lost on, making Ippo realise he really did lose. While walking together, Kumi asked Ippo why he can't stop boxing, adding that he has no duty to fight nor anything to protect anymore. Ippo answered that he was going back as he couldn't quit after betraying everyone's expectations, however, he does not want to worry his mother, so he promised to Kumi that it wold be his final challenge, the next time he loses, he would retire without regrets, never fighting in the ring again. Ippo went to Umezawa's home to help him with his manga. After continuously messing up the edits, Umezawa asked Ippo to draw some straight lines on a paper.
