There are zero stakes in the fights since nobody can die, and don’t tell me you were actually worried even for a second about someone dying. It’s all just an excuse for showing a bunch of flashbacks regarding the support cast. Too bad none of that matter since these people have no chemistry and never feel like they are a team. All that flashy animation goes down the drain because they are not only uninteresting, they are also not important. As stated by the very bad guys, the only two people that matter are the protagonist and the blindfold guy. What a way to fodderize the entire cast right from the beginning of the show.

Subaru is hailed as a protagonist who differs from other isekai protagonists by not being overpowered, and yet he has an OP power that nobody can counter. And if pain is a lot worse than death, which is why (supposed) he is not using it actively for resetting the plot every time he messes up, then why is he willingly ending himself? The big fuss everybody was yapping about during the first season was how painful it is every time he dies and therefore he does his best not to die. And here he is abusing that power by ending himself so he will not have to suffer through the negative consequences. It’s the definition of a copout.
And even then, why is he not ending himself every time he messes up? Sometimes he does, sometimes he doesn’t. It’s almost as if he never learns and has no specific mindset so that the author can use him however he likes instead of how he should be acting.

"[39] The A. V. Club's Noel Murray graded the DVD release of the series' first 12 episodes a B+, writing that "what sets [The Amazing World of Gumball] apart from the many other super-silly, semi-anarchic cartoons on cable these days is that it features such a well-developed world, where even with the eclectic character designs, there are recognisable traits and tendencies. "[40] Wired writer Z noted that the series "manages to have genuine heart even as the plots themselves transition from well-worn TV tropes to all out madness. [77] Future In an interview with The Times newspaper, series creator Ben Bocquelet mentioned plans for a feature film based on the series. [78] However, after Bocquelet announced his departure from the show following the sixth season,[79] he stated that he doubted a film would be made. [80] In March 2018, Bocquelet's interest in a Gumball film was seemingly revitalized as he stated that he "might have a good idea" for a film. [81] He later added that he had two ideas, one for a potential theatrical film and one for a potential direct-to-video film. [30] The main staff and cast members from the first season returned to reprise their roles. [31][32] The series was broadcast on 30 stations and channels, including Fuji TV and Tokyo MX, covering most of Japan. [33] According to Jason DeMarco, Adult Swim executive producer who oversees the block, the success of the Mugen Train film initially made further seasons of the series too expensive to acquire for broadcast. [34] Two years later in October 2023, Adult Swim announced that the English dub for Mugen Train Arc would broadcast on its Toonami block beginning on November 12 of the same year. [35] A month later, it was confirmed that Entertainment District Arc would also air beginning on January 14, 2024. [36] Funimation streams Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Entertainment District Arc.
