While Onmyōji (2016) plays this straight in every other
aspect of the game, some in-game comics (like those about the backstory of
Ōtakemaru and Kujira) are drawn in a Western comic book
style and read left-to-right rather than like a manga. PaRappa the Rapper and its spinoff Um Jammer Lammy. Not only is the art style cartoony, all of the cutscenes and songs are in English, even in the Japanese versions. Makes sense, as the series artist, Rodney Greenblat, is actually American. No More Heroes and its sequels sport a mix of cel shading and realism with a So-California setting, western-style character designs and names. Both games do make multiple references to anime media, though. Killer7 looks, sounds, and feels like if it was made by Mainframe Entertainment than Capcom and Suda 51, and if it was a game in Reboot. The main character in Professor Layton, as well as many secondary ones, are designed in a classic French style, though other characters are designed in anime fashion. The character design of Sora that Tetsuya Nomura created for the Timeless River world (based off the cartoon short Steamboat Willie and other shorts during the 1930s) in Kingdom Hearts II, which makes him resemble a cartoon character from The Silent Age of Animation (Rubber-Hose Limbs and all). Just look◊ at him◊. Silent
Hill is frequently mistaken for an American franchise due to the American setting and realistic graphics, and takes a lot of influence from American media such as Jacob's Ladder and the works of David Lynch.

After a battle against Enmu in a passenger train, Tanjiro kills him with Kyojuro's support. However, Upper Three Akaza appears and battles Kyojuro, who dies from his wounds as the demon escapes. Months later, the group is sent to
Yoshiwara with Tengen, where they face off and kill the Upper Six siblings Gyutaro and Daki. Tengen retires from the Corps after suffering extensive injuries. During another battle at the Swordsmith Village, where the Corps' weapons are forged, Tanjiro meets Genya Shinazugawa, Sanemi's younger brother, who has the mysterious ability to temporarily gain demonic powers after eating their flesh. At some point, he repeatedly kicks Uruma in the head while berating him after the latter's remaining family members die before the short man gets his face ripped off by the teeanger and punched on the head, knocking him to the ground as he dies. Miguel (美外留, Migeru) A member of the Revolutions Club. Being a tall and muscular man, he is very charismatic and well-mannered despite his appearance. However, like the other members of the Revolutions Club, he is just as twisted, cruel, and violent as them during their tortures of their own members. He gets his left eye gouged out by Uruma before attempting to twist his head, only for Shun Uruma Sr. to rip out his vein, instantly killing him. Others[edit] Daki Kawashima A servant of
Ushiro. Karen Sakuraba (桜庭 花蓮, Sakuraba Karen) A girl who was kidnapped and abused by Ushiro, she
later gets her revenge on her abusive boyfriend before committing suicide. Ganno (雁野) A minion of Ushiro who was sent by the psychopath to rape Azuma Chizuru. Being gigantic for a teenager himself, he is also very abusive and misogynistic as he views women as sex objects and even threatens to beat those who dare resist his sexual advances. At some point, when he attempts to attack Azuma, he is confronted by "Bikerman" (who is actually Shun Uruma wearing a bicycle helmet to cover up his identity) and the bigger man seems to have gained the upper hand in their fight only for the tables to turn once Uruma dislocates the bigger monster's joints, permanently.
