That's when Kureha comes and says that Yuujirou should fight the losers, because this tournament can't end like this. The Ogre beats them all without a problem. Then all the victors enter the arena and stars to provoke Yuujirou. However, suddenly Yuujirou is shot with tranquilizer bullets. It turns out that those shots were planned by Tokugawa and Baki to stop Yuujirou. He is taken away and moved to a closed room with a steel door, but after some time he wakes up, breaks down the door and leaves. Before Baki's match with Kaiou Retsu, Yuujirou comes to talk to his son's opponent. He tells him he should be afraid of this fight. During the battle, Yuujirou watches his son's brutality and hopes that Retsu will awake the true "Hanma spirit" in Baki. However, ultimately Baki does not kill Retsu, even though he is very close. After the fight, Yuujirou meets Baki and tells him that he is disappointed because of his son's delicacy.

He wanted to show that even those without powers could still make a difference and achieve their dreams through hard work and determination. [21] That vision results in heroes in the series not being egotistical, but passionate and dedicated individuals with clear goals to work towards. [22] The series also explores on Izuku, who idolized heroes from a young age, and his enthusiasm. In a world where superheroes are not just regulated, but commercialized brands, he still sees something inspiring in their actions. [22] My Hero Academia has been noted for its positive view of heroes. Cramer wrote that "in the modern world, we often challenge heroic ideals, and the motivations of the people who pursue them", noting how in American media the optimism of the Silver Age of Comic Books lead to post-Watchmen ambiguity. He also noted that, even in Japan, unquestioned heroism is often challenged in modern revisions of older series, such as in Yatterman and Gatchaman. [22] Media Manga Main article: List of My Hero Academia chapters My Hero Academia is written and illustrated by Kōhei Horikoshi. There’s a few moments that are supposed to be somewhat serious that just don’t hit for me because of the lack of expressiveness from the character models. I’m not saying it has to be ufotable, but damn, I should at least be able to sense some sort of emotion coming from the characters.
Despite my criticisms of the series, I did enjoy stretches of it. It starts slow but really picks up once a few side characters are introduced and there’s some really enjoyable moments in this anime. If you can look past the shoddy animation and inconsistent pacing at the start, you’ll find a decent watch with a decently written main character. By the end of the show I was pretty excited for its release on Mondays, so yea, it’s a tricky one. I’d say give it a shot and see how you like it. It has some interesting ideas and I think it has the bones of a decent story.

In short:
Good setup ticked all the boxes that is need to be ticked for a decent psyhological romcom, could have been good i feel like if care was put into it. ChatGPT dialogue, weird animation, convoluted and compliacted characters. Story lines start up and go nowhere, bad message story-wise.
