81, Ranked #3890 | Aired Fall 2010 | Produced by Feel You know how in ecchi anime producers often add a sister character and heavily imply that she wants to bone our lead but either never gets there or drops the old "not blood-related" shtick? Don't you wish anime would just drop that pretense? Yeah, Yosuga no Sora. I shall say no more.
Keijo!!!!!!!! MAL Rated 7. 22, Ranked #2580 | Aired Fall 2016 | Produced by Xebec Let's not f*ck around here. This is a show about a made-up sport called 'Keijo' which is basically sumo on a platform in a pool with boobs and butts. If you're not a complete snob about fanservice, you'll think it's pretty good.

There's a lesson in every chapter and words, that even though I don't think anyone in the real world has the heart to say, that make me want to become a better person. Someone who would give and give and give and ask for nothing in return. It makes me want to smile. To be the reason that someone else could smile. It makes me want to to the rock that someone can stand on. It's hard to read this manga and not feel ashamed for something you've done. It makes me ashamed to feel that I don't do as Tohru does. Which is why I believe that everyone should read this manga. Because it's heartwarming, sad, and where life continues to grow. Reviewer’s Rating: 10 What did you think of this review? There is one single idea that tends to drive on the story, but I felt that it was too forced. Despite the constant lies a lot of hyperiders are saying about it being a deconstruction or a subversion, or whatever meaningless platitudes they will say for making views and money, the plot and the cast are nothing you haven’t seen before. They simply look gorgeous and if colores bonitos is all you care about then you will be dumb enough to think a patchwork of stuff you have already seen in other shonen is the best shonen ever. CHARACTERS Let’s dig into what is wrong with it and why it’s not as good as they make it sound, starting with the character chemistry which is completely phoned in. Everyone meets and befriends each other in a matter of minutes, thus there is no gravity behind their friendship. It’s one thing to spend months with someone before you can call him an ally or a friend, and a whole other to bond in mere minutes. Basically every Jujutsu sorcerer in the show gets introduced and instantly becomes part of the team, thus it never feels like these characters care deeply about each other. Character motivations are another lame thing, since they are ridiculously simple. One wants to help people because his grandpa told him to do it, another wants to find her childhood friend, and a third wants to be kind like his sister. It’s one thing to expect something less than trying to be the best sorcerer in the world, and a whole other to want close to nothing. There is nothing inspiring or grand in whatever they want. Naruto was instantly grabbing your attention because he was very sad on the swing, and Deku did the same by crying after being bullied and was told he will never become a hero.
I'm going to overcome my weakness!" - Round 17, while training at the Jōnan University Training Camp "Until I understand what true strength is, I'm the Challenger! So I'll always stand up!" - New Challenger Saga "They weren't fouls. The referee didn't stop the fight. It maybe be because he decided that they were simply accidents or maybe he really didn't see them, but in any case you shouldn't have taken your eyes off the fight. It was your fault!" to Itagaki after his first loss against Fumito Makino in Round 364 "Umezawa-kun is someone I know, a classmate, and also someone I work with, but most of all, we're best friends!!" - Ippo yelled at Masahiko Umezawa after he resigned from Makunouchi Fishing Boat in Round 507. "The reason we train so hard in the first place is so we can make it home in one piece. " - Round 1011, to Kumi while over at her and Mashiba's place "This isu is naisu!" - Chapter 1221 Etymology The name Ippo means "one step" (一歩), creating a pun in the series' title (as Hajime means "first", therefore "The First Step"). Ippo's surname Makunouchi means "curtain, act, hanging screen, bunting, case" (幕) (maku), "this" (之) (no) and "inside, within" (内) (uchi). Trivia Ippo's nickname "Wind God" (風神, Fūjin) is based on the Shintō God of Wind. In Japanese art, the deity is often depicted together with the God of Thunder, Raijin, which is the nickname for Miyata. Ippo birthday, November 23rd, is notably on Labour Thanksgiving Day in Japan. [153] The fights Ippo will never forget are, his fight against Eiji Date, Alfredo González, and Antonio Guevara.
