With Sawamura unable to stop himself from throwing a punch that misses, Ippo resumed the motion and landed the counter's counter, knocking Sawamura down.
This is most evident between the conclusion of Jack's fight and Baki's fight, whereas Pickle saw Jack as prey, he saw Baki as a friend/equal for the first time. Baki himself gives Yuujirou the victory because Yuujirou was able to withstand his attacks and could have beaten him confidently, evidenced by the fact that Baki was only barely holding himself together, while Yuujirou had sustained minimal injuries, and the match ends with Yuujirou essentially sharing the title of Worlds Strongest, as because although he had won the physical brawl, it didn't sit right with him to declare himself on another level above Baki anymore, as he had needed to try more than he ever had to in the past.
