"Frieren" means frozen, referring to the protagonist's always cool demeanor. "Stark" is strong, "Fern" is remote, distant, "Himmel" means heaven, "Eisen" is iron, etc. Antagonists are named along the same pattern. For example Draht means wire, and indeed, his weapon is a magical wire. Such a beautiful and stunning story. I wish they made more stories like this one. It's been a long time since I've watched an anime with such vigor and awe.To anybody wondering if this story is worth third time this by far has some of the best writing that I've seen in a long time. The contrast between the different character developments is staggering. It brings new perspective to friendship and love the characters are well thought out and deliver an impactful series full of emotion and wonder.
