where the vault's goods were being sold. Donning a disguise with Mitsuki, Boruto pretended to be interested in buying the stolen jewel. Attempting to apprehend the seller, their plans fails, leading to the thief retreating. Pursuing him, he leads them to a village, where he said he had already sold the stolen gold and used the money to repair the village's water distributing system. Before retreating, the thief explains that his group are noble in their actions, unlike the rich who profit off the poor, leading to Boruto wondering who was really in the wrong. With the continued thefts performed by the Byakuya Gang
throughout Konoha, Team 7 and other genin teams were assigned to help stop the thieves only when accompanied by a higher-ranked shinobi. During the afternoon, Boruto found Shikadai playing shōgi with Ryōgi and showed him the limit edition game Katasuke gave him. Questioning if he and Ryōgi had met before, Ryōgi suggested it was
someone else before leaving. Shortly later, the pair are confronted by a Byakuya Gang member who was being pursued by Temari. Requesting for the two's assistance, Boruto attacked with his clones followed by Temari repelling the thief out sight, resulting in them escaping. Boruto attacking Shikadai while being controlled.
