These acquaintances, who’ve mutually agreed to hide his secret, blossom into a full-blown romance so potent and infectiously wholesome that it has their classmates itching for their own high school romance. If you’re sold on that premise, you should check out Vivy: Fluorite Eye’s Song. I was surprised to see that Vivy branched a typical sci-fi action series into a thoughtful exploration of what makes us human. The show has many hearty episodes that focus on the complex natures of jealousy, greed, and loneliness. Some of the standout episodes even rival that of an introspective Cowboy Bebop episode (the anime not the live-action show) in how they let ideas and heartbreaking scenes breathe. Plus, when the action hits, it hits. Vivy’s sick-ass fight scenes feature some of the smoothest movie-quality sakuga animation I’ve seen in an anime series, which shouldn’t come as any surprise since Wit Studio is the same production company behind the first three seasons of Attack on Titan. To Your Eternity is the anime adaptation of Yoshitoki Ōima’s The Immortal. The series follows an immortal creature called Fushi that starts its long existence as a rock before taking the forms of a wolf and human as it observes humanity.

Ever the nervous, unconfident, and self-deprecating little guy of the group, Yoshitsune is nonetheless one of the few who answered the call to fight on Bloody New Year's Eve, where he is believed to have died. In the year 2014, Yoshitsune has become the dependable, albeit reluctant leader of an underground organization bent on taking down Friend. By 3FE, the group is now known as the Genji Faction (ゲンジ一派, Genji Ippa) after the Minamoto/Genji clan. In the live-action film series, his full name is given as Tsuyoshi Minamoto (皆本 剛, Minamoto Tsuyoshi). Maruo (マルオ) Kenji's portly childhood friend. After answering the call to fight, he is believed to have died in Bloody New Year's Eve. But in 2015, he is the manager of singer Haru Namio (春 波夫) under the pseudonym "Marukobashi" (丸子橋). Namio is one of Friend's favorite entertainers, the singer of the official theme song of Expo 2015, and a former bandmate of Kenji's. Using Namio's influence and connections, the two secretly investigate and subvert the Friends, such as inserting subliminal messages in videos. After meeting Friend, Namio draws his face, allowing Maruo to identify him. In 3FE, Maruo tracks down Keroyon and Kiriko and helps distribute the vaccine.

I think I was misled at the start to think that this was a cute slice-of-life where Maomao just enjoys her life doing apothecary stuff, but it has become more of a detective drama with Maomao as an apothecary ex machina solving all the palace mysteries.
Anyway, I'm just being harsh on the anime, because the real reason I dislike the show is because of one character - Jinshi.
I swear I've not seen . a more slimy, perverted, repulsive character as Jinshi - and yet he's portrayed as a handsome love interest (at least with Kazuma from Konosuba, he's a scumbag and everyone knows it).
I don't understand why people ship him and Maomao, he's a literal sexual predator. He forces himself on her and pressures her into doing things she doesn't want to do. Such a slimy man, I feel repulsed every time his scene comes on.
He's meant to be a eunuch, but I'm going to bet it turns out he isn't actually one, because there's no way the writers are going to have a love interest without gonads. Also, can a person without testosterone be such a pest?
(Disclaimer: I've not read the manga and have no plans to - so I'm just going off the anime) Reviewer’s Rating: 6 What did you think of this review?
