Both are completely different genres; Death Note is more of a psychological crime thriller, whereas Code Geass has more political themes as well as mecha battles. But that’s enough about Death Note, for now, we can talk about that anime another day.Code Geass is full of awesome mech fights that’ll keep you on the edge of your seat, but they aren’t even the main focus of the show! Half of the runtime is spent getting to know Lelouch as a character, as well as his motives for his rebellion. He’s quite a complex character, but I find him quite relatable at times, even if he has supernatural powers. Going back to the Death Note comparison, I feel like Lelouch is more likeable than Light Yagami.
