Takemichi learns that Peh-yan colluded with them out of anger for Mikey and Draken letting Pah-chin be arrested, while Kiyomasa had stabbed Draken for humiliating him and causing him to be exiled from the Tokyo Manji Gang. The Tokyo Manji Gang wins the fight, Takemichi defeats Kiyomasa and Draken recovers from his injuries. Takemichi returns to the present, only to find out that Hinata and his friends still die in the current timeline. With only the clue that Tetta Kisaki transformed the Tokyo Manji Gang into a violent organization, Takemichi returns to the past to find that Kisaki has recently joined the gang, using Pah-chin's absence to become his division's new captain. Mikey promises Takemichi that he will remove Kisaki from the gang if he is able to bring Baji back. With that, Takemichi is officially made a member of the Tokyo Manji Gang under Takashi Mitsuya's division. Takemichi discovers that Mikey holds a grudge against Kazutora for killing his older brother, Shinichiro, two years ago. In addition, Takemichi learns through Chifuyu Matsuno that Baji pretended to defect from the gang to investigate Kisaki. Furthermore, he learns that Kisaki had created Valhalla for Mikey to be its leader, and the Tokyo Manji Gang will eventually be absorbed into Valhalla after a rumble on October 31, 2005 known as "Bloody Halloween"; their loss had been caused by Mikey killing Kazutora out of rage over killing Baji. Though the Tokyo Manji Gang wins, Takemichi is unable to prevent Baji's death. However, Takemichi is able to prevent Mikey from killing Kazutora, and Kazutora decides to turn himself into the police.

Popples: The children have randoseru backpacks, the "ViVi" magazine in "A Hair-Raising Experience" has Japanese writing on it, and Party has Wide Eyes and Shrunken Irises after very loud music is blasted into her ears by her radio at the near-end of "Pop Goes the Radio". The Powerpuff Girls (2016) has an anime-inspired sequence in "Power of Four" where the girls transform into one big glowing Powerpuff Girl and fight a monstrous version of Him. A Japanese song plays as this occurs and a girl takes off her glasses to show off her purple "anime eyes". Rainbow Brite made use of Japanese-outsourced animation, and it shows, especially the big eyes and thick eyelashes (which even the boys sport). Some of Murky Dismal's expressions wouldn't look out of place in an anime, either. The show is essentially a Magical Girl cartoon as well, and was even translated as Mahou Shoujo Rainbow Brite in Japan.

Muzan kills Tamayo, and later Nakime when she is hypnotized by Yushiro to use her powers against him, but is forced above ground by the Corps. Aided by Tamayo's poison, the Corps unleash a desperate battle of attrition as the remaining members fight against Muzan until the morning sun can kill him. Muzan is left helpless against the sun but Gyomei, Obanai, and Mitsuri succumb to their injuries. As Tanjiro delivers the final blow, a dying Muzan fatally wounds him and forcefully gives him his remaining blood. Tanjiro transforms into the ultimate being in Muzan's last-ditch effort to have his species survive. He begins to attack the survivors but through their efforts and Nezuko, who has been fully restored to her human self, the transformation is reverse. In the aftermath of the battle, the Corps are disbanded, with Giyu, Tengen, and Sanemi as the only Hashira survivors. Muzan's death has effectively vanquished all other demons under his control while Yushiro goes to live as a painter. Tanjiro and Nezuko return to their home, accompanied by Zenitsu and Inosuke. Tanjiro and Inosuke marry Kanao and fellow Demon Slayer Aoi Kanzaki, respectively, while Zenitsu marries Nezuko. In a modern-day epilogue, the descendants and reincarnations of the Corps members enjoy a peaceful life free of demons.
This led to further backlash against Kadokawa, with accusations that they had used the actresses to deflect blame from the company itself. [65] On December 27, 2017, Yoshitada Fukuhara, the animation producer, confirmed that Yaoyorozu would ultimately not go on to produce the second season. [66] Tatsuki has also claimed on Twitter on September 14, 2018, that he was never paid for his involvement with writing the script, or any of the royalties concerning the anime. [67][68] TV Tokyo's producer for this anime, Nobuyuki Hosoda, responded to fan questions on Twitter stating that he couldn't provide an answer based on the position that he was in. [69][70] Anime setting and drawing plagiarism allegations[edit] Concerns rose among Internet users on February 2, 2018, that the then-upcoming game, Kemono Friends Puzzle Gokko, was plagirizing artwork and setting from the first season of the anime without the consent of Tatsuki. Yoshitada Fukuhara weighed in on this as well, stating that he was never informed of this matter and that he would look in to it.
