The characters are enjoyable and charming, the animation is pretty good and the story is ok. I feel like the final few episodes felt a bit too rushed, but there is a reason. It dis suprise ke when I found out why the laet few episodes were rushed, but I will explain it in my Kyoto Saga review. This was the first anime in a long, LONG time were I actually watched the dub firsr. I do have mixed feelings with it, but not what yoy are thinking. Firsr off, I cannot stand any of the male voice acting, especially the really old characters. Rim's voice actor I think was the guy who voiced Eren Yeager in Attack on Titan and thought he sounded good. The only male character who sounded really good was Yukio. That voice acting waa one of the best male voice actors I have heard in a while. But that's it, all the male's sound AWFUL. On the other hand, all the female characters sound AMAZING, which is ironic.

At the end of the manga/movie, after having studied in Tokyo for a while, Shoko returns to her hometown and reunites with Shoya for the Coming of Age Day. Naoka Ueno (植野 直花, Ueno Naoka) A girl from Shoya and Shoko's elementary school who allowed Shoya to bully Shoko. She continues to be friends with many of their classmates, after they separate themselves from Shoya. Ueno watches Shoya becoming a loner throughout middle school and believes their sadness, from her having to cut off contact with Shoya to him hating everyone, including her, has all been because of Shoko. She runs into Shoya years later and tries to reintroduce him to past classmates. Ueno has a crush on Shoya, when they were children, which cause her to become jealous and resentful towards Shouko.

Elsewhere, as Gabimaru and Gantetsusai fight the Soshin, Mei repeats the words, strong and weak. Suddenly, a half-human, half-insect Doshi appears to capture Mei whom he wants to return to the Horai. Gabimaru uncharacteristically acts to protect her but he and Gantetsusai come under attack from swarms of insects. Fuchi understands what Mei is saying and explains to Gabimaru that Tao is a balance weakness and strength, so to see the Tao emanating from the Doshi, he must acknowledge his weaker side. Gabimaru struggles to do so, but he begins to see the Tao flowing around the two Doshi and is able to defeat them.
