He then cuts the monsters to pieces a berserker rage. 5"The Samurai and the Woman"
Transliteration: "Samurai to Onna" (Japanese: 侍と女)Shū WatanabeShigeyuki MiyaApril 29, 2023 (2023-04-29) Sagiri wakes up to find they have moved away from the butterflies whose poisonous scales caused her to faint. Gabimaru tell the others that while exploring alone, he discovered that many plants on the island were former samurai sent by the shogun. Senta also shares knowledge he gained since arriving. Genji suggests that he replace Sagiri in guarding Gabimaru as she lacks battle skills but she refuses. Meanwhile, Yamada Asaemon Tenza tries to leave the island by boat with the criminal Nurugai, last of the Sanka people, but they are blocked by a graveyard of samurai ships. They are attacked by monsters and as they try to escape across the wrecks, they come across Yamada Asaemon Kisho, still alive but with flowers sprouting from his body. Nurugai loses heart with the guilt of feeling responsible for the demise of the Sanka and waits to die, but Tenza refuses to give up and together they fight their way back to the island. While drying their clothes, Tenza discovers that Nurugai is a young woman. They decide to circle the Island to see if they can find an escape route. Gabimaru gives Sagiri the confidence to stand her ground and become a samurai against Genji's instance that she should become a wife and mother.
- Lexia von Arselia, the half-elf, is the first princess of her Kingdom of Arselia. Like Kaori in the real world, Lexia is literally yet another damsel-in-distress character that got saved by Yuuya, only to fall in love and try her best to win his affection.
- Luna, the aptly named "Headhunter" in a guild of professional assassins, apart from her vicious nature as a result of being born into poverty to fight for her survival, was hired to take down Lexia. Once Yuuya enters the picture, Luna is swiftly taken care of by the both of them, only to be forgiven if she repents of her ways of evil and turns into good, which leads to her being Lexia's exclusive bodyguard.
But if there is one thing that I can praise about Iseleve, it's that the idea of interchanging between worlds is a pretty novel concept, though I know that some shows and films have done this before to varying degrees of success and failure. Iseleve is no different in this regard, as it allows Yuuya to interchange between the real and fantasy worlds with this small, abandoned house that was once owned by his grandfather, that serves as his portal or gateway. Yuuya also acquires familiars in the form of the black Fenrir puppy Night and the young Moju boar Akatsuki, which can be cute and adorable at times, and assist Yuuya well when trouble comes seeking face-to-face in the onslaught. But on the bigger side of things, being able to inflict magic in the real world is also a concept that is not new, but what Iseleve does in its execution is decent at best to put Yuuya at the forefront to the amusement of the people around him. However, if there is a line that I must draw, it's that good-looking people need not be this fancy, and what Miku did to Yuuya, he's admired to the point of being a literate Jesus of sorts, like how it's painted in the Bible through 1 Corinthians 13: "Love is patient and kind, no envy or pride, be the first to come last for another. Never forced; slow to anger; trust without keeping score. Long to suffer with truth, (and) Love will never die.
After finding out that the culprit is - in fact - a demon (not just any demon though), he trains under a man named Urokodaki to participate in the life-or-death Final Selection in order to earn a place in the Demon Slaying Corps to kill the demon that killed his family and turn his sister back into a human. It sounds like a very typical shounen story. It is. So, what's so special about it? Like I said, it's your shounen anime done right. It follows that typical, familiar shounen-esque storyline (and comedy), but the combination of characters, background, and pacing really come to enhance the story. And the story is realistic.
