Haruta attempts to escape but he is also killed, with his luck courtesy of his cursed technique finally run out due to his fight with Nanami. With his time almost up, Sukuna quickly takes Megumi outside the city to be healed, before returning to show his work to Yuji. Yuji sees the crater and becomes immensely traumatized, blaming himself for everyone that died by Sukuna's hands. Meanwhile, a half-burned Nanami wanders the subway.

He initially held them off with his Explosive Clay, until Boruto summoned Garaga, who initially refused to help until his might was questioned by Boruto. As Sekiei struggled to dodge Garaga's assault, his body suddenly gave out. While Boruto attempted to finish him off, Mitsuki appeared to save Sekiei. He made his intention to join the artificial humans clear as he subdued Boruto before departing. Soon afterwards, the Ino-Shika-Chō trio returned, and took care of Boruto while he was unconscious.
