To appease the Human, Rudeus attempts to kill Orsted, one of Human's enemies. However, Rudeus offers his allegiance to Orsted in exchange for his family's protection instead. Shortly after, Rudeus takes Eris as his third wife, following a reconciliation for the misunderstanding. The series continues episodically with a series of story arcs based around Rudeus' work with Orsted to ensure the Human's precise demise, as well as his daily life and growing family. Finally, after a large-scale attack on Rudeus' life fails, the Human gives up on his plans against him, opting to scheme against Rudeus's descendants instead. In the end, Rudeus lives the rest of his life peacefully before his natural death at the age of 74.

Sadly, his situation becomes even more challenging when one night, a mysterious, stark-naked girl crash-lands right on top of a bathing Rito. To add to the confusion, Rito discovers that the girl, Lala Satalin Deviluke, is the crown princess of an alien empire and has run away from her home. Despite her position as the heiress to the most dominant power in the entire galaxy, Lala is surprisingly more than willing to marry the decidedly average Rito in order to avoid an unwanted political marriage. To LOVE-Ru depicts Rito's daily struggles with the bizarre chaos that begins upon the arrival of Lala. With an evergrowing legion of swooning beauties that continuously foil his attempted confessions to Haruna, To LOVE-Ru is a romantic comedy full of slapstick humor, sexy girls, and outlandishly lewd moments that defy the laws of physics. I often see people compare the plot to Death Note, and I can kind of see the comparison since both series are about genius high school students who were given supernatural powers and live double lives, with the intent of “making the world a better place” according to their own ideals of justice. But despite these comparisons, they both feel drastically different from one another. Both are completely different genres; Death Note is more of a psychological crime thriller, whereas Code Geass has more political themes as well as mecha battles. But that’s enough about Death Note, for now, we can talk about that anime another day.
Code Geass is full of awesome mech fights that’ll keep you on the edge of your seat, but they aren’t even the main focus of the show! Half of the runtime is spent getting to know Lelouch as a character, as well as his motives for his rebellion. He’s quite a complex character, but I find him quite relatable at times, even if he has supernatural powers. Going back to the Death Note comparison, I feel like Lelouch is more likeable than Light Yagami. With Lelouch, it feels like he has some level of compassion (especially for his sister Nunally), whereas Light tends to be more self-centred. Lelouch is the most interesting character in the show, right next to Suzaku Kururugi, who seems to be “close friends” with Lelouch. Suzaku has completely different ideals of justice to him, and because of this, they end up unintentionally becoming rivals in a way. Both characters are on opposite sides, but they don’t know that they are, so it’s like they’re close but far at the same time. IGN. Archived from the original on April 2, 2023.
