The animation is highly convincing, with
each and every location fitting the world established by the show. In addition to the narrative, let's also talk about the character designs. Maka, Black Star, and Kid are all easy on the eyes, and their appearances are equally captivating. Well, the cheap
action scenes that are brought forward by the
dramatic camera angles can feel a bit out of place at times, but over all it is a real treat to look at.
And the music? Oh, it's killer. The opening and ending themes pack a punch, perfectly complementing the gothic visuals. The hard rock soundtrack adds another
layer of depth to the darker themes of the show. All in all, "Soul Eater" nails it when it comes to audio. Reviewer’s Rating: 8 What did you think of this review? Action is pretty good. The concept itself is Interesting, and the show opens strong and closes pretty good.

By the start of the third season, however, he was then voiced by Troy Baker, who ironically voiced Kiyosumi Katou in the Funimation dub. The character Gai Tendo (Gai Tendou) from the SNK multiverse is probably also based on Baki Hanma.
[51] Anime[edit] Main article: List of Death Note episodes The Death Note anime, directed by Tetsurō Araki and animated by Madhouse, began airing on Nippon TV on October 4, 2006, and finished its run on June 27, 2007, totaling 37 episodes. [52] The series aired on the network "every Tuesday at 0:56", which is effectively Wednesday. [53] The series was co-produced by Madhouse, Nippon Television, Shueisha, D. N. Dream Partners and VAP. [54] In North America, the series was licensed by Viz for residents in the United States to use "Download-to-Own" and "Download-to-Rent" services while it was still airing in Japan. This move was
seen as "significant because it marked the first time a well known Japanese anime property was made legally available in the United States for domestic audiences to download while the title was still airing on Japanese television". [55] The downloadable episodes contained the
original Japanese audio track and English subtitles,[56] and were made available through IGN's Windows-only Direct2Drive service. [57] DVDs of the series have also been released,[56] containing both an English dubbed audio track, produced by Ocean Productions, and the original Japanese audio track with optional English subtitles. [58] Viz announced at Anime Expo 2007 that the first DVD was officially released on November 20, 2007, in both regular and special editions,[59] and also confirmed at Comic-Con International 2007 that the first 15,000 copies of each DVD contain collectible figures. [60] Death Note was slated to make its North American television premiere in Canada, as part of YTV's Bionix programming block, on September 7, 2007.
