The good moments come too few and far between; it leaves the rest of the experience pertaining to the Cult of Diabolos (or “Diablos,” depending on who’s translating it) and its actual world lumbering along until it gets to the next meme-worthy instance. It comes in both the form of emphasizing things that don’t really need to be emphasized, or blasting through things when it should stop and catch its breath. The result leaves *The Eminence in Shadow* as an organizational mess, which diminishes its bright points greatly.
With its second season being announced, I do not doubt that there will surely be more masturbatory indulgences in its own supposed cleverness.

Here’s a little definition if you haven’t, Poe’s Law is that without a clear indication of the author’s intent the parody of something extreme can be mistaken for the real thing and if a real thing sounds extreme enough it can be mistaken for a parody. Kage no Jitsuryokusha ni Naritakute falls exactly into this, if I wasn’t told like a dozen times by multiple people in social media groups that talk only about Light Novels and other places then I would fail to know that this thing is supposed to be a parody, after all, it plays . every
single cliché on it so completely straight that I don’t know what is supposed to be the parody in here.
This anime is claimed to be some sort of parody and even more bafflingly a deconstruction of isekai that makes fun of all OP MC tropes, but the idea of a parody is to take certain aspects of a work and imitate it in an exaggerated or comedic fashion, the thing with this anime is that it takes itself extremely seriously, from the liters of blood being spilled every time a battle happens to the multiple episodes where there isn’t a single joke in them, and the tropes presented across the anime are, as I said before, played completely straight.

Oshiekomu Note 5 Kaga Anime moyen, très moyen même. Je vais être concis, on a une histoire d'amour entre deux opposé. Black Clover Note 5 Mewka J’avoue avoir été plutôt surprise en voyant les notes que cet anime reçoit. C’est un shônen, et plus.
Don't get me started on the KNB Last Game movie, that movie had terrible pacing. Like we get moment of them "training", declare war against Jabberwocks, then get straight to the match. Like what? They had 1 hr and 50+ mins to show us their training because Jabberwocks even rivaled NBA players, but no, because their the Generation of Miracles, they'll make the dream work.
Overall:
KNB had so much potential in rising to be one of the best sports animes out there. Personally, I really liked it since I got to learn a bit of basketball from it, the character designs was like Horimiya but in the sports realm, the OST was good to especially the 3rd opening and the 5th ending were absolute bangers. The animation was very good especially the Aomine vs Kagami match, Kise vs Aomine, Seirin vs Akashi, and the Last Game was also very good. The character designs for the GoM was also good, but the non-GoM people looked liked average side characters sadly, it would've been nice if the side characters had crazy hair colors too to not make the GoM look like foreigners. Despite there being basketball games that take place, there is no real portrayal of basketball to be found. It is just a generic rule of cool anime that happens to involve basketball.
