Tomo was put in the friend zone after confessing to Junichirou Kubota, her crush. He sees her as a friend, but Tomo wants him to see her as a girl. To tell the truth, there's a pretty good explanation for that. For you see, Tomo represents the definition of a tomboy, yet she's a girl.
The anime's title literally means what it says. At least in a literal sense, Tomo Aizawa is a girl. She finds it distressing that Jun perceives her as a man at all times. The show, which is based on the 4-koma, mostly uses a romantic comedy storytelling style with lots of jokes and funny scenes. Considering how lightly the anime is handled, the fan service is something you shouldn't ignore. The main objective of the anime is to make Jun and the viewers understand that Tomo is a girl and not the tomboy that everyone thinks her to be.
Though I haven't worked on anime much, viewers shouldn't be too concerned with fan service, as I previously stated.

[105] A deck-building board game, Cowboy Bebop: Space Serenade, was released in 2019. Reception[edit] Critical reception[edit] Cowboy Bebop received unanimous acclaim, beginning at the time of its initial broadcast. Beginning in 1998, Japanese critic Keith Rhee highlighted the series as a standout in an otherwise "run-of-the-mill" season, praising its overall production values, and singling out Kanno's soundtrack as "a much-welcome change from all the sugary J-pop tunes of most anime features". Rhee also highlighted the show's Japanese "all-star cast",[49] which his colleague Mark L. Johnson described as being filled with "veteran voice talent", turning in even greater performances than those of their "above average" US counterparts. [106] In 1999, Australian magazine Hyper reviewed the anime and rated it 9.

It's a guy that got his hands on Game of the Year after he played too many crappy RPG games in the past. That's all you need to know about this guy. What Shangri-La Frontier has to offer is that the video game world they present actually has lore and a realistic player base, and no, I don't want to hear how there are toxic players or griefers that ruin other people's experience. The main character doesn't have to fight his life over a game, he's still getting challenged but never feels overwhelmed, and most importantly, he's having fun without the presence of video game characters having to be present to talk and serve as unnecessary fanservice for the MC. On top of that, it also has good animation and the characters don't look generic whatsoever? This anime has been such a pleasant surprise that finally shows what a Video Game anime is actually about. I'm willing to say that this anime brings other predecessors to shame.
Looking forward for more of Shangri-La Frontier and considering it's going to have a 2-cour run, I only hope for C2C to keep up with their consistency in animation quality and pacing. The premise of the story is simple, a expert gamer who loves bad games finally plays a good one. The story rips a page out of your standard Isekai playbook with tropes like the main character becoming the most important and overpowered person in another world with video game mechanics being integrated into the various world systems and combat, only it makes more sense here than other Isekais because this is actually a video game.
The characters are serviceable with no one in particular standing out besides the vorpul emperor . ^ "Studio Trigger, A-1 Pictures' DARLING in the FRANKXX Anime Reveals Video, Visual, Staff".
