This is accomplished through the character expressions as it made many scenes feel larger than life. EVERYTHING that happens in the first episode is foreshadowing the story within the Abyss. But let me get back to what happens shortly after the waterfall and flower clip. We are introduced to the lighthearted driver of the story and her friend, Riko and Nat. They walk down a path where they see a gondola, foreshadowing that Riko will be going down into the abyss. Then she goes on an excavation to find relics, only to find a dead body in prayer.

Each character development is linear and silly, I tried to see it as much as I could because of the hype but I have fallen asleep in the last 3 episodes.
The story seems unique and interesting to me, that's perhaps the main reason to start the anime. But the characters are the biggest problem. The heroine is unusually intelligent and the main male character falls in love with her in two seconds and basically falls in love with her for no solid reason.
