FromSoftware's best known RPGs, such as Demon's Souls, Dark Souls, Bloodborne and Elden Ring, contain many elements typical of Western games such as Real Is Brown visuals, free-roaming gameplay, character customization, and minimalist story presentation. This, combined with Dark Souls debuting at a time when most Japanese games weren't getting much mainstream attention in the West, leads many people to be surprised when they find out that FromSoft is a Japanese developer. Finally, I do want to commend some parts of the OST and the cool OP song, and commend a few cool fighting scenes we had.

The Monogatari Series, or, more accurately, its anime adaptation by studio Shaft, has had an absolutely profound impact on the industry. Yet, compared to similar era-defining shows such as Evangelion or Madoka, it spawned a shockingly low amount of straight-up imitations. And it's not hard to see why, an author has to have at least 150 IQ to even attempt to write this type of story, as well as immense confidence not to be afraid of unfavorable comparisons with Nisio Isin. Though IQ below 100 and the Dunning-Kruger effect is . also an option, Bunny Girl Senpai exists as an ostensive example of how NOT to imitate Monogatari. ^ 週刊少年ジャンプ 1990/12/03 表示号数51.
