C2C delivered a massive hit to this adaptation and with the attention it's getting, I think it's only going to get better from here.
I think when the term "Video Games" exists in an anime, isekais were the first genre to jump into this train, they usually shit out a huge exposition of RPG mechanics that means literally nothing with tasteless buffs the writers love to give to their characters without any meaning behind it. They also introduce . the most tropey characters that receive no character development throughout the story and then make them cry out the MC's name during any dramatic clashes. Or they ultimately have to make the scummiest villains alive so that the story can somewhat progress.
As other genres jumped into it, it's treated as a niche topic that's used as a trigger point for the main plot of the story.
