[76][77][78] All three volumes were some of the best-selling manga of 2012. [79][80] All three volumes of Viz Media's release of Phantom Blood and all four volumes of Battle Tendency reached the top seven positions on The New York Times Manga Best Seller list. [81] According to ICv2, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure was the eighth best-selling manga franchise of Q4 2021 (September–December) in the United States. [82] Critical reception Reviewing the first volume, IGN named JoJo's Bizarre Adventure a "must read," declaring the artwork of "a standard virtually unseen in most manga produced today. "[83] Otaku USA's Joseph Luster called the series "fun as hell" and noted how the beginning is not filled with action like most Weekly Shōnen Jump series, but instead has the tension of horror and thriller films. [84] Rebecca Silverman of Anime News Network wrote that the first volume "combines a fighting story with a solid emotional background, and will absolutely put hair on your chest.

"Sailor Moon". THEMAnime. In the first series, Maryann Turner plays a recurring minor character referred to only as "Mrs Thing", whom Peter is constantly trying to avoid. Simon's pregnant partner, Honor O'Sullivan (played by Kelly Campbell), is introduced in the final episode of the first series. By the second series she has given birth to baby Daniel and is living with Beatrice and Peter, where she develops an attraction to Lyle. She leaves after Simon returns. Guest appearances in the first series are made by Richard Wilson (as Peter's old university tutor in episode four), Robert Bathurst (as a cross-dressing husband in episode five), Lynsey De Paul as Sheila Larsen, who drowns in her own swimming pool, Joss Ackland (as an Auschwitz survivor in episode six), and Rory Bremner (as a vicar, also in episode six). [9] Bremner, known more for satire than acting, has joked that he played the vicar "as" Michael Howard and Rowan Williams and that his character's name was "Jane", due to an error in the script. [4] Wilson returned for the second series, which also includes roles by Lucy Benjamin and Richard Briers, and Diana Quick. Local residents appear as background extras and in crowd scenes. [10] Guest stars confirmed for the third series include Pippa Haywood, James and Oliver Phelps,[11] June Whitfield, Peter Sallis, Colin Baker, Sandi Toksvig, Jack Dee, Miriam Margolyes, Adrian Scarborough, Sophie Winkleman, Anna Massey and Jaye Griffiths. [12] Production[edit] Filming of the second series outside Oakleigh House in 2007 Wheeler spent two years developing the idea for the series before filming began in 2006 and proposed the Peter character as "helping people more than doing the law". [4] The series was originally to be based around a probate solicitor, with the title Where There's a Will.
His obsession with being a virgin is just annoying and it genuinely feels like he doesn't really bring anything to the plot. Most of the time he stands there screaming and something or someone else steps in to deal with the situation then Takemichi gets all the praise for doing absolutely nothing.
A lot of the comic relief moments feel kind of lazy, relying on crude humour or misunderstandings which overall aren't that funny to me personally but humour is subjective so that's not that big a deal.
The animation style is decent.
If the show was just a gang story that focussed on Mikey and Draken it'd probably be more to my tastes personally but you can't win them all. Reviewer’s Rating: 6 What did you think of this review? I remember when the anime was released in 2021 and had gathered quite a lot of hype around it. It was compared to other similar works like "Erased" and seemed to be rather popular. Well at least for the first few months, somewhere in the middle of it, people suddenly stopped seeing any of the anime on YouTube or anywhere else, it was like it was gone and there was no trace of the fans. After I started watching this anime, I understood why that was the case.
Despite all expectations, this anime/manga is blessed with a very interesting concept, especially for thriller fans. We .
