However, on the night of Ai's delivery, Gorou is murdered by an obsessive fan of Ai's and is reincarnated as Aquamarine "Aqua" Hoshino, Ai's son, retaining his memories of his previous life. Metal Slug wasn't the only game released in limited numbers in 1996. By that time, SNK was manufacturing AES cartridges at a rate that was just 10 percent of the rate the company was producing them at during the early '90s. Kizuna Encounter looks nice but plays average. It's worth big bucks. Along with Metal Slug, SNK released two other limited-issue AES games in 1996. The first of these was Kizuna Encounter: Super Tag Battle, a tag-team fighting game that's best described as a cross between Samurai Shodown and Capcom's X-Men vs.
While working at the fishing boat and training with Volg at the gym, Ippo later discovered that Volg left after watching tapes of Sawamura's matches. When Umezawa asked what will happen with Volg, Ippo answered that Kamogawa had contacted Dankichi Hama to Volg in America. On the day before Volg leaves for America, Volg asked Ippo to spar with him, wanting to show him the Dempsey Roll counter. The next day, Ippo got into the ring at the Kamogawa gym and began to spar with Volg. After Ippo and Volg had a serious fight for two rounds, Ippo started his Dempsey Roll in the final third round. As Ippo hit Volg's block multiple times, Volg stepped back and Ippo was struck with a right counter to the face as he was preparing to hit Volg, making him pass out on the canvas.
