Araki said that, because in an anime the viewer cannot "turn back pages" in the manner that a manga reader can, the anime staff ensured that the show clarified details. Inoue added that the staff did not want to get involved with every single detail, so the staff selected elements to emphasize. Due to the complexity of the original manga, he described the process as "definitely delicate and a great challenge". Inoue admitted that he placed more instructions and notes in the script than usual. Araki added that because of the importance of otherwise trivial details, this commentary became crucial to the development of the series. [18] Araki said that when he discovered the Death Note anime project, he "literally begged" to join the production team; when he joined he insisted that Inoue should write the scripts.

I usually don’t care for the sub vs dub debate, since I believe that it’s mostly down to personal preference, but the Code Geass dub is done really well! Granted, I haven’t seen it in Japanese outside of a couple of clips, but man the dub is awesome. Lelouch is voiced by Johnny Yong Bosh, who I feel is a perfect fit for the role. He delivers lines with so much emotion. The same can be said for Suzaku, who’s voiced by Yuri Lowenthal. The other voices are great too, but these two really steal the show for me. The way they both delivered their lines in the final episodes of the first season really gave me chills.
Overall, Code Geass is an anime that I didn’t expect too much going into, but it absolutely blew away my expectations and ended up being something truly incredible! It’s a show with a decent plot, awesome characters, cool mech designs, great animation, epic fight scenes, decent music, and so much more! Would I recommend Code Geass? Definitely! If you’re into mecha anime like Gundam, mystery anime like Death Note, or many other shows of the same quality, then I’m sure you’ll have a good time! I don't want to come off as the devils advocate just because I'm bashing on a critically acclaimed show, so please here me out. The story itself has a good premise but the execution lacks the sort of polish you'd expect for an anime with as many pedigrees as this. The characters feel like nothing more than plot devises with little personality. The only character\ reasonably "fleshed out" would be lelouch, despite him not having any shred of complex emotion.

This is a bildungsroman just as much as it is a sports story, only the "coming of age" story here involves the entire team and not just the dual protagonists. Elsewhere, Rayne finds Lance is actually a disguised member of Innocent Zero searching the school for something, but since Abel has failed to find it he rushes off to kill Abel, leaving Rayne to fight cannibalistic serial killer Jon Pierre. 1212"Mash Burnedead and the Magic Mirror"

In response, it has been removed from digital platforms in China, and the character's name was changed to no longer reference Unit 731. [367] A day prior, both Weekly Shōnen Jump manga magazine publisher Shueisha and the manga's author Kōhei Horikoshi issued an individual apology statements on Twitter. [368] In the aftermath of the manga's removal from its services in China, the English-language news service Abacus reached out to bilibili and Tencent for its request. The former stated that the removal was "in accordance with China's policies" but declined to comment further, while the latter did not respond to Abacus' request for comment. [368] The character's name was changed again by the digital version of Weekly Shōnen Jump following the backlash. Shueisha promised that "going forward, we intend to devote our energies toward deepening our understanding of a variety of historical and cultural matters.
