Spaziante was the first to go into this with James Fry and Ron Lim soon after. Fans hated the artwork however the actual writing in the Sabrina the Teenage Witch comic was praised. IDW's Jem and the Holograms (IDW) has a western art style however it does have some manga influences. Jerrica does a Magical Girl type spin when becoming Jem and certain artists use some manga-type expressions.
