In middle school, Mari helped Meiko stand up for herself when she was bullied by Kate, and the two have remained close friends ever since. She, like the rest of the Kurihara family, employs a strange philosophy to judge one's character. Her philosophy is, "Anyone who likes crows isn't all bad. " Meiko Shiraki (白木 芽衣子, Shiraki Meiko) Voiced by: Shizuka Itō[2] (Japanese); Whitney Rodgers[3] (English) Portrayed by: Asana Mamoru[4] Meiko is the towering bespectacled vice president of the underground student council. She is put in charge of watching over the boys while they are in prison. In middle school, she was bullied for her large breasts. The strongest student in the school, and proficient in Judo, Meiko is a harsh disciplinarian over the boys, and often punishes them for the slightest infraction, with Gakuto being a popular target. Although a powerful and intimidating figure, she deeply fears displeasing Mari, which manifests itself in body-wide excessive sweating. Similarly, she enjoys performing calisthenics, and is often seen comically performing odd exercises with a large puddle of sweat underneath her. Aside from working out, she has been shown to have a knack for cooking. Because of her voluptuous/athletic physique, her school uniform barely manages to hide her body often leading to comical wardrobe malfunctions.

The espers teleport Shikishima to a safe distance as the singularity destroys Neo-Tokyo in a mirror of Tokyo's previous destruction, and they agree to rescue Kaneda, knowing they will not return to this dimension as a result. In the singularity, Kaneda experiences Tetsuo and the espers' childhoods, including his and Tetsuo's friendship and the espers' psychic training before Tokyo's destruction. The espers return Kaneda to Neo-Tokyo, informing him that Akira will take Tetsuo to safety and that Kei is developing psychic powers. Ōnishi witnesses the birth of a universe but is killed in his lab's destruction. After consuming most of Neo-Tokyo, the singularity disappears, and water floods the crater left in its place. Mourning Tetsuo's loss, Kaneda discovers that Kei and Kai have survived, and they ride off into the ruins while Shikishima watches the sunrise. At an unspecified plane of reality, Tetsuo introduces himself and triggers the creation of a universe, finally transcending the limitations of human existence. Voice cast[edit] Cam Clarke and Johnny Yong Bosch (top to bottom) voiced Kaneda in the first and second English dub of the film, respectively. Character Japanese[14] English Electric Media/

Marty was president throughout the '90s, mainly as a liaison between the Japanese and US arms of the company, but took a more active role when John left. Tracy Tate and Heh-Kyu Lee Sincock were also responsible for a fair number of daily operational tasks and made significant contributions to the company in terms of effort. They basically filled in for John Barone and Susan Jarocki (she married Barone around that time) after they left. GS: Today, the NeoGeo certainly has a devoted fan base. People are willing to pay more than $500 for the console and around $350 per game just to keep up with the latest software. A decade ago, the NeoGeo was just as expensive a hobby as it is now, except that game releases were three times more frequent.
