The series also has some of the most fluid animation and action scenes you'll find in 90s cartoons. This is probably because it was (for the most part) animated by Mook DLE, whom also helped out on Eureka Seven, Gungrave, R. O. D the TV and Mars Daybreak. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1987) has a Five-Episode Pilot animated by Toei Animation and several later episodes also done in Japan in a distinctly anime-like style at points. This predated the actual anime based on the series. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2003) is particularly Animesque in terms of storytelling but many of the action scenes have a clear anime influence. The opening sequence even has a Shout-Out to AKIRA. This actually got more pronounced as the series went on and the "Back to the Sewer" season
dropped all pretense whatsoever. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2012) features even
clearer stylistic anime influence than the 2003 show. Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles takes the crown of Animesque TMNT properties, with designs and action scenes that'd
look right at home with some of Studio TRIGGER's more action heavy shows.

Miyo's habit of apologizing for everything. Feeling guilty, he asks her to cook breakfast in the morning. Miyo dreams of her father allowing Kanoko to abuse her. Kiyoka praises her cooking and is perplexed when it makes her cry. Bemused by her behavior, he decides to have the Saimori family investigated. Later, Minoru is furious to find out Miyo is now engaged to Kiyoka, having previously agreed that Kouji would marry Kaya only if Miyo was allowed to marry his eldest son Kazushi, since her maternal relation to the Usuba family makes her very valuable as a wife even
without her spiritual powers.

The innovations that started with KOF '96 continued in the '97 edition. To begin with, you had the ability to choose between two modes: advanced and extra mode. While extra mode worked much like previous KOF games in that you built a meter to use one super combo, advanced mode let you collect "stocks" of super combos and gave you the ability to "break" them to unleash new, more devastating combos. Although there weren't nearly as many innovations in KOF '97 as there were in the '96 edition, the Orochi story arc continued, introducing two slightly new characters, Orochi Iori and Leona, as well as killing off Vice and Mature.

Because of its late debut compared to Samurai Shodown, The Last Blade didn't receive nearly as much praise as it should have. Whereas Shodown was a game with huge characters and bright, vibrant colors, The Last Blade was a game with smaller (but better animated) sprites, a softer
palette of colors, and characters that were sharply designed.
