After Kagura's funeral, Boruto and Kawaki wished to pursue the Funato. However, everyone agreed to follow Sarada's orders, who decided to wait on the village as
Funamushi was certain to return, still wishing for revenge. Later, Boruto thought back to his time
with Kagura, and was approached by the rest of Team 7, who were concerned about his earlier Kāma use. He assured them that Amado's drugs were still working as he remained in control, and that he had no intention of relying on Momoshiki's power. While making
repairs at the village, Boruto wished to pursue the Funato and counterattack while they were still weak. When food had to be rationed, Boruto and the others agreed not to eat so the villagers could. Boruto later met with Kawaki at Kagura's grave, where he told Kawaki about Kagura's life, and the two reaffirmed their desire to avenge him. Boruto is saved by Buntan. Boruto and Metal waited for Denki and Iwabee to return, but the children came back without them, and informed everyone of their capture by the Funato. While the villagers hid again, Iwana and Yamame asked Boruto to avenge Kagura. When Buntan asked about how to deal with Funamushi's Water Release, Boruto commented it seemed familiar, and asked Mitsuki about Suigetsu's
Hydrification Technique, getting confirmation that while using it, Suigetsu became vulnerable to Lightning Release.

Everyone in the show is terrible at communicating—not because this is true to actual high school students, but because it's repetitive writing. It's never a mystery what a character is thinking, and if you can't tell, the directing makes it even simpler.
When they don't know how to communicate the characters' thoughts, they just put a text box on-screen. Adapting a manga involves more than
copying and pasting panels—you creatively develop ways to show emotions through body language, music, camera angles, and editing. The extent of Horimiya's visual storytelling is by focusing on a character, slow motion, changing the backdrop to a white wall, and adding a colorful shadow. The first time, it was unique. It conveyed Hori and Miyamura's thoughts. Even though they were evident without the sudden art
style change. Then they kept doing it. Eventually, it would happen five times per episode for each side character. It lost its effect right away and became forced.
