Later,
Boruto gave Tentō the Seventh Hokage card he was missing for his collection. After the three days of body-guarding passed, Tentō asked if he could visit Boruto again, which Boruto agreed to as they were now friends. Boruto fighting Shojoji. Later, Boruto and his team were delighted to be issued their first B-rank mission. As he was about to prepare for his mission, he noticed the ultra rare trading card he desired was in his pocket. Realising that Tentō slipped it in, Boruto decided to return it. While sneaking into Tentō's room, he overheard the daimyō
saying that Tentō was kidnapped by the
Mujina Bandits. Determined to save his new friend, Boruto asked Sarada to tell their team he couldn't join them on the mission because of an important matter. Boruto soon found Tentō, just in time to stop Shojoji from eating his brain for his jutsu. Subduing the other bandits there, Boruto engaged Shojoji in battle, during which his attacks were repelled by Shojoji's Wind Release. As Shojoji began proclaiming how he would eat Boruto, he found a shuriken lodged in his back which Tentō threw.
Did I enjoy Isekai Ojisan, yes, but like so many other isekai lately, it goes nowhere, it has
zero . stakes. There are no baddies, it's just story telling for 13 episodes, okay cool, when did anime become so absent of basic plotline that adventure anime should have, like Konosuba has, like Slime has, like Re Zero has. The powerhouses of this genre are on top because they actually have basic story lines that drive the show forward. Isekai Ojisan would be so much better if it just gave us something to care about. By the end, we were just going through the motions to finish it and be done with it. That's bad story telling.
Animation 8/10
- Unique to a degree, and beautifully drawn at times, with no CGI I believe? If so, very hard to notice. Mabel scenes were peak.
