Armed with only a bag of groceries and a now useless cell phone, he is quickly beaten to a pulp. Fortunately, a mysterious beauty named Satella, in hot pursuit after the one who stole her insignia, happens upon Subaru and saves him. In order to thank the honest and kindhearted girl, Subaru offers to help in her search, and later that night, he even finds the whereabouts of that which she seeks. But unbeknownst to them, a much darker force stalks the pair from the shadows, and just minutes after locating the insignia, Subaru and Satella are brutally murdered.
However, Subaru immediately reawakens to a familiar scene—confronted by the same group of thugs, meeting Satella all over again—the enigma deepens as history inexplicably repeats itself.

From my perspective, we are living in a time where well crafted anime with a myriad of originality and detail are unfortunately being released at a frequently declining rate. Because of this, many in the anime community are constantly on the lookout for something new and creative.

Boruto however insists that he can't let his family ties define him, as Boruto could relate to being compared to father and grandfather. As a sign of friendship, Boruto decides to give Kagura his playing cards. The next day, Kagura calls Boruto to meet him at the Academy, where he finds Kagura training with Hiramekarei and says the village will be in good hands. Their conversation is interrupted when Shizuma captures the pair with water, who insists now is the time to start a revolution in Kiri. Rejecting Shizuma's words, Boruto unsuccessfully attacks him, leading to Shizuma has his peers reveal themselves and overwhelm Boruto. In his weakened state, Shizuma attempts to persuade Kagura to kill Boruto, but Kagura protects him at the cost of joining the group.

[44] On 21 July 2021, it was reported that 54 million households watched the second part of the show, a drop compared to the first installment. Lupin still managed to become one of the biggest shows during the second quarter of 2021. [45][46] Between the release of part 2 in June 2021 and part 3 in October 2023, Netflix altered its methods for calculating a series' success, dividing the number of hours it was viewed by its total length for an estimation of total completed viewings. In its first four days on the platform, part 3 of Lupin was viewed approximately 11. 6 million times, topping the international (non-English-language) television chart[47] and becoming the strongest launch for a new season of an international show since 2021. [48] Part 3 reached number one in many countries in Europe and Latin America and hit number two in the United States on 9 October,[49] and again on 11 October. [50] By January 2024, part 3 had received 50 million completed viewings. [51] Lupin is one of the most successful Netflix series in a language other than English, with all three parts achieving placements on the streamer's international top ten. [52] In a press release published in October 2023, Netflix described the show's first two parts as "mainstays on the Most Popular Non-English TV list". [47] Critical response[edit] On the review aggregation website Rotten Tomatoes, the first part holds an approval rating of 98% with an average rating of 7. 70/10, based on 44 reviews. [15][16] The second part began serialization on July 13, 2022. [17][18] Shueisha has collected its chapters into individual tankōbon volumes. The first volume was released on March 4, 2019. [19] As of December 4, 2023, 16 volumes have been released. [20] In North America, Viz Media published the series' first two chapters on their Weekly Shonen Jump digital magazine for its "Jump Start" initiative. [1][21] The series was then published on the Shonen Jump digital platform after the cancellation of Weekly Shonen Jump. [21] Shueisha also simulpublished the series in English on the app and website Manga Plus starting in January 2019. [22] In February 2020, Viz Media announced the digital and print release of the manga. [23] Viz Media posted an official trailer for the manga, featuring a high-octane opera vocals as its soundtrack. [50] Season 3[edit] The third season was also well received, with 95% of critics on Rotten Tomatoes giving a positive review with an average rating of 10/10, based on 19 reviews. The critics consensus reads, "Castlevania's stunningly animated third season continues to build on the game's lore by diving deeper into its characters with humor, heart, and a lot of bloody action. "[40] Collider's Dave Trumbore gave the third season a glowing review, praising the action and declaring the show "one of the best video game adaptations ever made". [51] This was echoed by IGN, who touted the show as "the best video game adaptation around". Ellis' approach to the source material and the voice cast remained points of particular praise. [52] Season 4[edit] The fourth season was positively received as well, with an approval rating of 100% on Rotten Tomatoes with an average score of 10/10, based on 13 reviews. [41] The site's consensus reads: "A rewarding experience and bittersweet farewell, Castlevania's fourth season is a triumphant conclusion to an expertly crafted series". [53] IGN commended the series' ability to deliver a satisfying ending without feeling rushed. The animation as well as the voice cast were once again praised. [54] Paul Tassi, writing for Forbes, criticized the pacing in the beginning of the season, but concluded that season four was "excellent" and "a full return to form for the series" after a mixed third season. [55] Spin-off[edit] Netflix announced in May 2022 that a new series with a new cast of characters set in the Castlevania universe was being planned, but that it would not be a direct spin-off of the original Castlevania series.
