A Viz spokesperson defended the manga, clarifying that it is intended for older teens and that the alleged swastika is actually a Buddhist manji. [152] The YuYu Hakusho manga publication has received mixed criticism by reviewers in English-speaking regions. Martin Ouellette of the Canadian Protoculture Addicts compared the progression of the series to Dragon Ball Z and stated, "Togashi's art, while simple, is extremely efficient and the story is really fun. "[153] An older article by the same reviewer disagreed with the notion that YuYu Hakusho was similar to Dragon Ball, stating that the former franchise has better developed characters, more interesting action sequences, and more humor. He later tries to shoot Akira before he can be taken into the Colonel's custody. He misses and shoots Takashi in the head, instantly killing him. He is in turn shot and killed by the Colonel's men. Ryu (竜, Ryū) Ryu (born May 31, 1992),[13] short for Ryusaku (竜作, Ryūsaku), is a comrade of Kei's in the resistance movement. As the story progresses, Ryu abandons his terrorist roots and becomes more heroic, working with Yamada and guiding Kaneda to Akira's chamber where Tetsuo is held up, but battles with alcoholism. In the final volume, Ryu reluctantly shoots and "kills" Akira when he begins to release his power; he is killed by falling elevator debris shortly afterward.
I found myself disliking the movie throughout the majority of it, until my eventual realization, which is my one warning, so I feel I won't be alone on that. A Silent Voice is one of the best movies I've seen so far this year. Show Less Show More kj p Super Reviewer Apr 18, 2017 'A Silent Voice' is the work of Naoko Yamada, a little perplexing as I've not encountered a lot of female anime directors. I was also a little surprised to find out it was also based on a manga by Yoshitoki Oima. The film itself is an endearing tale of living one's life as a young person being affected by regrets and opening up to the world in a more brighter manner than before, but it's also about atonement and reconciling with one's consequences of their actions. The character's are relatable as they are touching, carrying the film through it's compelling plot especially with the main character himself and the deaf girl who he's trying to understand. In the end it's not surprising the characters learn something more about themselves as well as their relationships with others in order to lead more happier lives. The animation is unique and top class to say the very least not the most outstanding especially for it's environments though it does a superb at blurring the line between imagination and reality. Even if the success of 'Your Name' is to suggest one piece of anime was huge, this deserves just as much attention as it does acclaim, I have no regrets watching this film and I encourage people of all demographics to seek out and see for themselves.
