Boruto began teaching him to read and write, and the two exchanged messages through Yuki. The
next day, he continued helping Tsuzura, but was discovered by Mozu, who blamed him for putting ideas on his head, and whose underling threatened to arrest Boruto. Tsuzura left with Mozu to spare Boruto. Boruto is captured and confined. When Sasuke and Maruta returned, Boruto informed them of Tsuzura's situation, hoping to interfere, but Sasuke refused despite having his own opinions about Paradise. The next day, upon
leaning that Yuki would be sold to a taxidermist, Boruto rushed back, arriving in time to protect Tsuzura, who tried to flee with Yuki, from the security officer. Mozu threatened Boruto with life in prison if he returned to Paradise, but Sasuke offered his new hawk in exchange for Yuki. On their way back to the train, Boruto tried to comfort Tsuzura. When Sasuke's hawk returned after freeing Mozu's captive animals, Boruto praised Sasuke, alerting the security officer of his identity. Tsuzura stood up to his mother, Sasuke and Boruto taking him to become Maruta's apprentice. Sasuke instructed Boruto to return to Konoha alone, so his actions against Mozu wouldn't reflect on it, choosing to go look for Kara's last Inner, Code.
After a long,
awkward silence, Tomo rages at Junichiro, saying she came to kiss him, but he explains he feels wrong doing so, revealing he asked her parents for their blessing, but was barred from dating her unless he defeated Goro. After New Years' Day, they return to school, where Misuzu and Carol confront Tomo about ignoring them, so she explains what happened. Meanwhile, Junichiro has challenged Goro. Tomo realizes during karate training that he needs her support, so she bolts to his aid. An injured Junichiro reinvigorates himself after seeing her and lands a
powerful punch on Goro, breaking his nose and winning the match. After the match, he formally asks her to be his girlfriend, which she accepts by kissing him.
