Zero Two engages the creature in her FranXX, but it is heavily damaged in the skirmish and crashes near Hiro. Finding her partner dead, Zero Two invites Hiro to pilot the mecha with her, and the duo easily defeats the Klaxosaur in the ensuing fight. With a new partner by his side, Hiro has been given a chance at redemption for his past failures, but at what cost?

Maybe that's because of the lack of a big problem to captivate, even if the moments I was actually watching it didn't bother me. It may be because watching an episode gives the impression as if we already knew everything, even if the work is running away from clichés. Perhaps the lack of cliffhangers at the end of episodes sometimes makes a lot of difference. I'm not sure what the exact reason for this work's problem is, which despite being great in some ways is tiring in others.
I believe it would have worked much better if I had seen it dubbed. For this anime specifically I also recommend watching several episodes at once, as it makes it less exhausting than watching it weekly.
