it started to transition into the Sanctuary Arc by introducing a shitton of retroactive continuity. I was fine with that because it seemed to be leading somewhere cool. "Oh, shit, there's actually a whole army of saints who are in a completely different league than even the silver saints!" With my monkey brain, I know this is just an incremental threat increase from silver to gold. But with my reptile brain, I was enticed and willing to follow it. I was into it.
