" Soon after his disappearance, rumors of a serial killer attacking female students of the academy began to spread. As Tomo and her sister Mafuyu Oribe head home after being tormented at school, Tomo trips over an injured silver-haired boy who abruptly vanishes while being tended to. Mafuyu goes to look for him, only to discover that the church holding the icon is burning down. When she tries to save the painting, the rumored serial killer suddenly attacks her with a mysterious ability to control magnesium. Appearing out of nowhere, the silver-haired boy, who can control iron, rescues Mafuyu. Mafuyu finds out that the boy, named Alexander Nikolaevich "Sasha" Hell, is a "qwaser"—a being who is capable of controlling an element through the power of "soma," received through the act of breastfeeding. Confused by the ordeal, Mafuyu attempts to move past it with little luck, as Sasha transfers to her class the next day.

The writers play up this fact though to the point that it starts degrading her character. Hestia goes from someone looking for validation and purpose to being a paranoid stalker. A very, very annoying paranoid stalker. Top that off with an abundance of ridiculous fanservice involving her and it’s a great way for me to stop taking a character’s problems seriously. At times we get a peek into seeing a different side of her but it remains hidden in the shadows, presumably for that inevitable second season some time down the track.
It would also have been nice if the girl Bell desires so badly, Aiz, actually had some semblance of personality that makes her a worthy target of his affection. I guess she’s a blonde, green-eyed beauty in questionably-designed armour who can swing a sword well. Sure she’s got it on the looks front but the show never once makes me feel like she’s worthwhile being the end goal of our main character – even taking into account the fact she’s helped him out before in some tough situations. In defence of Aiz she at least isn’t going completely head over heels for our white-haired friend. But in the face of that, she still feels like a soulless background object.
Don’t get me wrong. Tokyo called Isayama a "genius" for using the revelations about Grisha's past to smoothly link present events to the beginning of the story. [104] The series' handling of complex themes such as war, genocide, and imperialism has been the subject of much critical analysis. The portrayal of such concepts has been described as timely with respect to real world events. [105] The anime's allusions to the Holocaust and other historical crises have been praised for their sociopolitical commentary and depth, but have also been described as not taking a clear stance on these issues. [106][107] Crunchyroll listed Attack on Titan in their "Top 25 best anime of the 2010s". [108] IGN and Polygon also listed Attack on Titan among the best anime series of the 2010s.
Kamogawa then asked if Ippo found his answer of what it means to be strong, however, Ippo claimed to not have found the answer. Execution Arc Kumi tells Ippo that she can not see him anymore. After Ippo did roadwork with his puppy (which he quickly realised can not keep up with him), Ippo returned to his house where he received a call from Kumi asking to meet up with him. When Ippo met Kumi, he was gifted a jogging suit as a late birthday gift due to her not knowing it was his birthday when she came to his celebration party. Ippo then gave her his signature as a champion as he promised earlier. Though happy that he remembered, Kumi claimed that she can not see him again. Ippo became heartbroken and confused as Kumi ran away without saying why. Ippo then decided to go to the Kamogawa gym and entered Kamogawa's office where he learned that the annual Champion Carnival was commencing, with two boxers from the gym fighting. Kamogawa revealed that before Ippo's first JBC featherweight title defence, Kimura has a JBC junior lightweight title match against the champion Mashiba Ryō. Ippo then assumed that this was the reason Kumi made her earlier statement, leaving mixed feelings about the match. When Kimura left the gym to seek help from someone he claimed would be able to help him, Ippo wondered who it was, which Takamura hinted towards Miyata.
