As Boruto helped out with repairs, he was impressed to learn how passionate Ikada was about learning to become a shipbuilder like his master. Midway through, they learned that Ikada failed to stock up on a crucial piece for the engine. Boruto was sent with Ikada to retrieve it on Ikada's personally made mini-boat. Along the way, they entered a storm and chanced upon a drowning fisherman. Reluctantly, Ikada turned back and dived in to save him, revealing to Boruto his webbed hands and admitting that he did save Boruto before. Boruto however was not affected by Ikada's condition, promising his friend not to tell anyone about it. After retrieving the part, Ikada and Boruto
returned to base. Boruto confronts Seiren. Later, Team 7 discussed how to proceed given
their original mission. Boruto wanted to help Kagura and decided to get some night air as his team-mates returned to their lodges. Noticing some islanders commenting on an unusual black fog, Boruto created clones as a precaution, before Seiren Funato attacked him.
