Shortly later, the pair are confronted by a Byakuya Gang member who was being pursued by Temari. Requesting for the two's assistance, Boruto attacked with his clones followed by Temari repelling the thief out sight, resulting in them escaping. Boruto attacking Shikadai while being controlled. When protesters began accusing the Kaminarimon Company of corrupt practises, Boruto suspects that the Byakuya Gang is behind it. That night, the newly graduated genin teams are given section assignments in regards to handling the protesters by Kōtarō Fūma before departing. While Team 7 is stationed in their position, Boruto noticed Team 10 breaking formation, leading to him investigating the matter. Learning that Shikadai believed the Ninjutsu Research Centre is the Byakuya Gang's real target, the four hurried to the building, where they discovered the thieves had stolen Katasuke's Magnum Opus. Tracking them using Katasuke's scientific tool, the groups splits, during which Boruto followed Shikadai who chased after Gekkō and another member. Confronting the thieves on the Thunder Train they jumped on, the genin are trapped and Boruto placed under genjutsu. Thinking Shikadai is an enemy, they fought until Shikadai released the genjutsu. While Shikadai handled Ryōgi, Boruto attempted to apprehend Gekkō, but was pushed away and watched Gekkō detach the train carriages to escape. It concluded that "Castlevania is ripe with potential, but also burdened with clichés. "[45] Dan Seitz at Uproxx left a negative review, writing that it tried too hard to find profundity in the story of the Castlevania series. He also cited issues with the pacing. [46] Season 2[edit] Rotten Tomatoes reported that 100% of critics gave the second season a positive review with an average rating of 9. 3/10, based on 17 reviews. The critics consensus reads, "Castlevania sinks its fangs into vampiric lore during a devilishly fun second season that benefits from an expanded sense of scale and episode tally that allows the series to fully spread its leathery wings. "[39] IGN gave the second season a score of 10/10, praising Ellis's approach to Castlevania as "witty and self-aware enough to poke fun at itself when necessary". [47] In Collider's review for the second series, Dave Trumbore mentioned there "isn't a weak link in the cast here". [48] Complaints were made towards the pacing and the screen time spent on Dracula's court in Season 2. Writing for GameSpot, Michael Rougeau was disappointed that Trevor's group spent the majority of their time in a library, and also said Dracula "does literally nothing in all the episodes we've seen so far. There's one medium length flashback in which he massacres a council of merchants who offended him, but it's not like that moves the story along".
