Rod tries to convince Historia to allow herself to be transformed into a Titan, so she can eat Eren and regain the Founder's power. After Historia refuses and breaks Rod's vial of spinal fluid, Rod attempts to consume the serum himself, transforming into a monstrously large Abnormal Titan and inadvertently killing Kenny; he is then killed by Historia (with the help of the
Survey Corps), who is thereafter declared Queen. Having resolved the political unrest, the Survey Corps lead a successful operation to recapture Shiganshina, fighting the Beast, Colossal, Armored, and Cart Titans but suffering massive casualties, wherein Erwin dies in a suicide run against the Beast Titan, and Armin gains ownership of the Colossal Titan when Levi injects him with a serum given by Kenny, causing Armin to eat Bertholt. Eren and his companions return to his childhood home, where they
discover the truth of their
world: they are actually Eldians, sworn enemies of the conquering Marleyans who were enclosed within the walls after the original King Karl Fritz fled from the war. They are not the last humans as they were told, but rather an enclosed sect of Eldians on an isolated island called Paradis. Because they are "Subjects of Ymir" who can be turned into Titans by being injected with Titan spinal fluid, the Eldians continue to be oppressed by Marley. In the year after the battle of Shiganshina, the Survey Corps kill all of the remaining Pure Titans on the island. A map of the world of Attack on Titan, which resembles our own world flipped over the x-axis (south-up map orientation) Three years later, the Survey Corps launch an attack against the Marleyan capital of Liberio, orchestrated by Eren and his half-brother Zeke, who is the owner of the Beast Titan. Eren kills Willy Tybur, an Eldian who (along with his family) had been controlling Marley from the shadows and gains ownership of the War Hammer Titan after eating its previous owner, Willy's sister Lara. Eren is imprisoned for acting against orders but escapes with a faction of extremist Paradis soldiers called the Yeagerists. Zeke is kept in Levi's custody but manages to escape, severely injuring but not killing him.
While Ragna believed he would
never reach Leonica's level of power that never stopped him from training in secret so he could stay with her as long as possible, at least until the day he himself would be killed by a Dragon. [1] Plot[] Main timeline[] Fall of
Lese Arc[] One day, while hunting, Ragna daydreamed someone killing instantly countless dragons of many sizes, but this got him distracted and almost killed by a dragon if it wasn't for Leonica's intervention. They returned to the hunter guild in Ronabera, one of the seven cities of the Kingdom of Lese, to redeem the bounty. At the guild's tavern Ragna gets harassed by Sykes and his goons because of his weakness but Leonica intervened by drawing out her silver sword. Leo questioned Sykes what he sought with his sword, she explained she sought only strength and that was the reason she hunted dragon, because they are the strongest creatures she could fight. Then she invited anyone to follow her on her journey dedicated to onloy hunt dragons, she would share with them wealth, fame and glory, but no one showed interest except Ragna. Afterwards they went to sleep. While Leo was sleeping, Ragna was secretly training as he always did. He knew he would never reach Leonica's strength even in a lifetime but what he sought was to hunt with Leo until the day he would inevitably die by a dragon. But his thought is suddenly interrupted by another daydream which reminded him what he wishes will never happen followed by a vision of Leonica saving him but dying in the process. Five days later, March 26th, at the hunter guild, Ragna and Leo overhear Sykes who noticed the weird movements of the dragons in the region which are all directed to Donapierru.
It doesn't explain everything about the world right of the bat, yet it still answers the three basic questions for worldbuilding: What are the magical elements? What can they do/can't they do? What is the ethical problem? In comparison to the way that FMA set up the otherworldly elements in its own story without having to flat out tell you what the rules were. (These are also the same questions the FMA answered perfectly within the foist set of episodes) Both of these shows do a good job demonstrating where the morals lie, and who decides what's good and what's bad and those who decide for
themselves. Chimera vs soul manipulation. edit 12-15-20 CHARACTERS It's hard to tell where these characters are going and where they'll end up development-wise. But I think that they all have the foundation to grow into successful personalities. None of them are purely black and white, nor are they perfect characters and what I love is that they have different drives and motivations than Team 7 (to help people stop comparing them that's like the whole point of this review lol). Naruto was a character who loved anyone and everyone and to him, no one could do any wrong. And he consistently chose to work on understanding and forgiving his enemies and he oftentimes formed pretty strong alliances because of this. But Yuji is different than Naruto, and so Megumi isn't Sasuke. To me, their appraoch to not just life, but also saving life is refreshing. Yuji He won't kill because he doesn't
want to taint his soul.
